Sources: xQc's deal to sign VALORANT team Turtle Troop remains incomplete
The juicers are yet to formally arrive.
Over the past few weeks VALORANT team Turtle Troop has been in discussions with popular Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel to compete under his brand.
The deal has run into a roadblock, however. XQc is yet to formalize the signing of the team which has left the players scrambling, according to sources. Frustration has been building in both camps due to xQc’s absence.
Representatives for both teams remain in discussions at the time of publication.
XQc planned to enter VALORANT following the influx of influencers entering the Riot Games-owned esport over the past few months. It was speculated that xQc planned to sign a different roster prior to the discussions with Turtle Troop.
The Turtle Troop roster competed in the first split of North American Challengers, which saw some of the best teams from the second tier of competition go head to head.
Turtle Troop was one of the teams that was unsigned prior to qualifying for the tournament. The team remained without an organization while other influencers began to pick up VALORANT rosters in Challengers, however.
Fellow streamers “Ludwig” and “MoistCr1TiKaL” picked up free agent team ‘BreakThru’ while “Disguised Toast” acquired his own team led by veteran in-game leader Joshua “Steel” Nissan.
Turtle Troop fell to Oxygen Esports in the team’s last match of Split 1, so the team failed to qualify for the Mid-Season Face Off.
